Since 2017 I use only phones and tablets with AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and derivatives and without Google services on them. Apart from not missing anything, and aware that the hardware and the kernel are not fully clean, I still prefer this to the commercial verrsions of Android (not to mention iOS) that most of the people are unfortunately using. It costs a bit of work and knowledge, some apps won’t work, but there are alternatives and work-arounds for almost everything. Let me know if you are intrigued or want to know more.
